43   Warfare begins between the northern and southern Huns.

118   The north-south feud between the Hun dynasty ends.

311   Luoyang, the Jin Dynasty (265-420) capital of China, was sacked by groups of barbarians under the leadership of Huns. Jin Huai Di, emperor of China, is captured.

316   Huns sack Chang'an, capital of the Chinese Western Jin Dynasty. Jin Mindi, the emperor, surrenders.

320   The Huns appear in Persia.

350   The Huns invade Persia and India.

352   Beginning of a war pitting the Huns against the Alans.

363   The Huns reach the Caspian Sea.

370   The Ostrogoths are conquered by the Huns. The Visigoths cross the Danube.

373   The Battle of the Tanais River near the Don where the Huns defeat the Alans.

376   Visigoths appear on the Danube and request entry into the Roman Empire in their flight from the Huns.

400   While taking refuge along the Danube, Gainas and his Goths are attacked by the Huns, killing him and his army. Gainas' head is sent as a gift to Constantinople by the Hun chieftan Uldin.

406   With the aid of the chieftan of the Huns, Uldin, Stilicho crushes an army of 200,000 barbarians led by Radagaisus at Fiesole. Stilicho then executes Radagas, and the surviving barbarians are either incorporated into the Roman army or sold as slaves.

408   Under Uldin, the Huns attack the Eastern Empire, setting fire to various frontier forts and taking control of the Castra Martis. The Romans try to negotiate, but Uldin demands an exorbitant gold tribute in return for his withdrawal. This demand is rejected and the Romans begin to push the Huns back across the Danube.

412   The forts on the west bank of the Danube, which were destroyed by the Huns, are rebuilt, and a new Danubian fleet is launched.

432   King Rua unites the Huns.

434   Attila the Hun gains control over the Hun tribes, jointly with his brother Bleda.

441   The Huns invade the Balkans.

447   Sofia destroyed by the Huns.

451   The Huns sack Metz.

451   The Huns and the Ostrogoths facing the Romans and the Visigoths achieve at best a draw in the Battle of Chalons. After the battle, between 10,000 and 20,000 men lie dead on the Catalaunian Fields.

452   Attila, king of the Huns, invades Italy

454   Battle of Nedao between the Gepids and the Huns.

468   The Huns again invade Dacia and are once more repelled by Leo.
