Messier Object M76 is a Planetary Nebula discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1790. It has an angular size of 2.7 x 1.8 arc minutes.

Location:
M76 is located inside the constellation Perseus at RA 01 42.4 and Declination 51 34. It is 3,400 light years from Earth which makes it the 23rd furthest Messier Object from Earth.

Brightness:
Compared to other objects from the Messier catalog, M76 is a relatively dim deep space object with a visual magnitude of 10.1.
