Messier Object M70 is a Globular Cluster which was discovered by Charles Messier in 1780. It has an angular size of 7.8 arc minutes.

M70 is located within the borders of the constellation Sagittarius at Right Ascension 18 43.2 and Declination -32 18. It is 29,400 light years from the planet Earth making it the 60th furthest Messier Object from Earth.

Compared to the other Messier Objects, M70 is a bright deep sky object with a visual magnitude of 7.9.
