Description

Overview:
The Messier Object M64 is a Galaxy which was discovered by 1779 Edward Pigott. It has an angular size of 9.3 x 5.4 arc minutes.

Location:
M64 is located within the borders of the constellation Coma Berenices at RA 12 56.7 and Declination 21 41. It is 19,000 light years from Earth which makes it the 80th furthest Messier Object from Earth.

Brightness:
In relation to the other objects from the Messier catalog, M64 is a dim deep sky object with a brightness rating of 8.5.
