The Messier Object M6 is a Open Cluster discovered by Giovanni Battista Hodierna in 1654.
It has an angular size of 15 arc minutes.
Location:
M6 is located inside the constellation Scorpius at RA
17 40.1 and Declination -32 13.
It is 2,000 light years from Earth which makes it the 13th furthest Messier Object from Earth.
Brightness:
Compared to other objects from the Messier catalog, M6 is a bright deep space object
with a visual magnitude of 5.3.
