Messier Object M4 is a Globular Cluster which was discovered by Philippe Loys de Chéseaux in 1746. It has an angular size of 26.3 arc minutes.

Location:
M4 is located inside the constellation Scorpius at Right Ascension 16 23.6 and Declination -26 32. It is 7,200 light years from Earth which makes it the 40th furthest Messier Object from Earth.

Brightness:
Compared to the other Messier Objects, M4 is a bright deep sky object with a brightness rating of 5.6.
