Extinction
In biology and ecology, extinction is the cessation of existence of a species or group of taxon, reducing biodiversity. The moment of extinction is generally considered to be the death of the last individual of that species . Because a species' potential Range may be very large, determining this moment is difficult, and is usually done retrospectively.


Extreme point
An extreme point or an extremal point is a point that belongs to the extremity of something. *In mathematics, an extreme point of a convex set S in a real vector space is a point in S which does not lie in any open line segment joining two points of S. Intuitively, an extreme point is a "corner" of S.


Extremely low frequency
Extremely low frequency is the band of radio frequencies from 3 to 30 Hertz. ELF was used by the United States and Soviet Navy/Russian Navy to telecommunication with submerged submarines.


Extremes
Going to Extremes and Surviving Extremes are television programmes made for Channel 4 by Nick Middleton. In each episode of the two series, Middleton visits an extreme area of the world to find out how people have adapted to life there. Both Going to Extremes and Surviving Extremes are accompanied by books of the same name , except in the USA where the latter is titled Extremes: Surviving the World's Harshest Environments .


Extricate
Extricate is a 1990 album by the post punk band the Fall. It was made immediately after bandleader Mark E. Smith divorced Brix Smith. Many have assumed that the lyrics are bitter indictments of her, although because of the typical cryptic nature of Fall lyrics that is impossible to determine.


Extrusion
---- Extrusion is a manufacturing process used to create long objects of a fixed cross-sectional profile. A material, often in the form of a Billet, is pushed and/or drawn through a Die of the desired profile shape. Hollow sections are usually extruded by placing a pin or mandrel in the die, and in some cases positive pressure is applied to the internal cavities through the pin.

Exult is a Free Software reimplementation of the Ultima VII game engine. It enables play of Ultima VII: The Black Gate and Ultima VII Part 2: Serpent Isle, and their corresponding expansion disks Forge of Virtue and Silver Seed, on modern machines. In order to play these games, data files from the original games are needed.

Eye candy is an expression used to describe something that is most remarkable for its visual appeal. The term may, in some cases, be interpreted as derogatory, implying that the thing has no substance, relying solely upon its visual appeal for any value it may have. Eye candy may also refer to:


Eye chart
An eye chart is a chart used to measure visual acuity. Types of eye charts include the Snellen chart, Landolt C, and the Lea test.


Eyebrow
The eyebrow is a bony ridge above the eye that protects the eye and bears a tuft of facial hair in most mammals. The main function of the eyebrows is to prevent moisture from dripping into the eye. The typical curved shape of the eyebrow and the direction in which eyebrow hairs are pointed, make sure that moisture has a tendency to flow sideways of the eyes, mainly along the side of the head but also along the nose.


Eyelash
An eyelash or simply lash is one of the hairs that grow at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same function as vibrissae do on a cat or a mouse in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object is near the eye.


Eyelid
An eyelid is a thin fold of skin and muscle that covers and protects an eye. The levator palpebrae superioris muscle retracts the eyelid to "open" the eye. This can be either voluntarily or involuntarily. The human eyelid features a row of eyelash which serve to heighten the protection of the eye from dust and foreign debris.


Eyepatch
An eyepatch is a small patch, usually of black cloth, that is worn in front of one eye and usually attached around the head by an elastic band or by a string. It is often worn by people to cover a lost or injured eye, but it also has a therapeutic use in children for the treatment of amblyopia or lazy eye syndrome.


Eyre Peninsula
Eyre Peninsula is a triangular peninsula in South Australia. It is bounded on the east by Spencer Gulf, the west by the Great Australian Bight, and the north by the Gawler Ranges. It is named after explorer Edward John Eyre who explored some of it in 1839-1841. The coastline was first explored by Matthew Flinders in 1801-1802.


Ezekiel
Ezekiel or Yechezkel was a prophet in the Tanakh, commonly regarded as the author of the biblical Book of Ezekiel. While Ezekiel is not mentioned by name in the Qur'an, most Islamic scholars believe that the epithet Dhul-Kifl, which is mentioned, refers to him.


EZO
EZO is the American self-titled debut album from the Japanese people metal band Ezo. It was released in 1987 on Geffen Records and co-produced by Gene Simmons of KISS fame.

Ezra Cornell was an United States businessman and, with Andrew Dickson White, was the founder of Cornell University.


Ezra Pound
Ezra Weston Loomis Pound was an United States expatriate, poetry, musician, and critic who, along with T. S. Eliot, was a major figure of the Modernist poetry movement in early 20th century poetry. He was the driving force behind several Modernist movements, notably Imagism and Vorticism.
