Most were originally from Africa, and were captured or bought from thier cheifs by European men.
Almost none came of thier own free will.
They were put into slavery as soon as they were sold in barbados, one of the islands south of america, or in America.
England outlawed slavery in the early 1800's, and The Us did in 1863, I believe.
