The pythagorean theorem is the equation..
a(squared) + b(squared)= c(squared)
c being the hypontenuse of a right angle triangle, and a & b being the other two shorter sides. therefor, there are three versions whether you need to find side a,b or c.

...sorry for the (squared)..I couldnt find superscript..lol
