I have a series of images of soda cans from top view, and I would like to programmatically determine the wether or not the tab is facing towards the top of the screen (I am using imagej as a toolkit for another program, which is why I can't just look at it and judge if it's facing up or not). I'm fairly new to imagej, but I am reasonably sure there is no good way to do this without plugins. If you could suggest a method of doing this or a pluggin to do it with I would be very grateful.

Hey,
I see that its been a while since you posted this, so I was checking to see of your problem has been solved yet.
I am a student at University of Alabama at Birmingham enrolled in an image processing class. For the final project, I need to find a 'client' with an interesting problem and develop a solution to the problem. The solution as far as the class goes needs to be in the form of an ImageJ plugin.
Seeing if this is still an unsolved problem.
