Years ago I read a book by Taylor Caldwell. Ican't remember a whole lot about it except there was a psycopathic, fat jolly man who liked animals in it.

I have some remembrance of him being aboard a ship. Perhaps on his way to America, but maybe not.

I know that I liked the book, and would like to reread it. Funny how a book which I know I enjoyed has gone from my memory almost entirely.
