Does anyone else think that if Charlie had agreed to an ECG scan then a lot more about him would have been revealed? He had had an accident at work where he was knocked unconscious by the handle of a baler and had suffered headaches since the accident. I know that he didn't agree to a scan because he didn't want to be labelled insane, but isn't it strange that he had never committed any criminal offence (apart from motoring violations) before that then suddenly committed these murders? I believe the accident was on the side of the head where it is more sensitive than the back of the head. I also feel that if the police had demanded that Caril open the door when she refused to allow either her sister or grandmother to enter the house then the murders that followed would never had happened. It took Charlie's brother and Caril's brother-in-law to discover the bodies in the outhouse. I know that it's easy to be wise after the event, but who on earth takes the word of a 14 year old girl who was obiously lying. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I agree, I think the accident to Charlie's head definitely effected his thoughts and behavior afterward. I think the family and Charlie were desperate not be labeled "crazy" even at the risk of capital punishment. I think it is a shame because I feel Charlie got the bad end of a deal. And Caril got away with it, albeit 17 yrs locked up..
