Abortion
Why should we disagree or agree with abortion?

Yes, I know that people may agree or disagree with abortion, but why do we make this judgement about abortion? Is it religion? Or just the way we see things?

It has to do mostly with religion and how one sees life. It is against many religions to kill, and many religions and many people in general consider a fetus to be alive. Now, if you were talking to someone from a purely scientific stance, then they would say that a fetus isn't a alive until a certain amount of criteria are met with particular signs of life.
So it all depends. It's so highly argued because if it is thought to be alive, then by aborting a fetus, you are killing someone-- in particular you are killing someone who has done nothing and has had no chance to live.
I am pro-choice. I say that it's the woman's right to choose what she does and I'll not complain either way.
And I'd like to add that crime rate has gone down significantly since abortion has been legalized for various different reasons.
Over all. I think that it's a good thing that abortion has been legalized, because if a woman doesn't want to give birth then she will kill herself not to do it, so being able to do it in a safe environment that will save her life is worth the controversy to me.

Religion and personal view points are of course, the two main reasons for arguments against abortion. I personally, am pro-life. I believe that abortion IS murdering a human life, which is not only against most religions, but against the law.

Science tells us that the heart of the human fetus begins to form 18 days after conception. There is a measurable heart beat 21-24 days after conception. Most women do not even discover that they are pregnant until after this point. Therefore, all abortions stop a beating heart, even "early" abortions. Most abortions do not occur until 4-6 weeks after the fetus begins to form. The human brain is formed enough to produce brain waves by 6 weeks, which means that most abortions destroy a functioning human brain.

Contrary to what many people believe, human beings are not constructed throughout the gestation cycle - they develop. In fact, all the major organ systems are initiated within the first three weeks after conception. The process of embryonic development is a continuous process, with no obvious point at which the fetus magically becomes a "person."

Going into an abortion, many women don't know what to expect. Most people don't even know what actually happens during an abortion. Descriptions given by abortion clinics are heavy on calming words, glossing over the actual process. Here's a site describing actual abortion methods, which is frankly, sickening. http://www.abortionfacts.com/literature/literature_9312ha.asp

If an old or sick person is no longer able to live outside of the help of machines, are they no longer a person?

Human life begins at conception. This is why abortions are argued against.

It doesn't have to all deal with religion. Personally I think if your an atheist you have more reason not to have an abortion because if your atheist you don't believe in anything happening after your dead so technically your not even giving the baby a chance to have a life. If your religious you just wouldn't do it.

For some people it is a matter of determining whether or not they can afford the expense of a child and if the answer is no they abort. For others it comes down to timing. Does this fit into our plans at this time.If not, abort. For fundamental Christians there is no choice or decision since the bible speaks only of the sanctity of life and presents children as a gift from GOD. As such it is against all proper actions to destroy something that GOD has "loaned" you for a short time. It is with such belief and faith that the bond is strong enough to overcome all objections. Moderate Christians believe that if a pregnancy might be a dangerous situation for the mother then an abortion is acceptable. Still others believe that if a baby might be born with other than a normal configuration or some sort of brain problem that termination of that life is acceptable.
The Catholic Church believes that if the is a complication during pregnancy after the second trimester then the life of the baby should be saved at the expense of the mother.
I could go further into this but I think this is enough for now.

I don't like abortion and I don't adhere to any particular religion but I am so tired of hypocrites.

The Pro-lifers harp on the evils of abortion but if they aren't having all the babies that God will allow them to have then they are guilty of stopping life the same as having an abortion.

Just imagine all the children on "19 Kids and Counting" that wouldn't be here. Which of those children would the Pro-lifers be eliminating?.... 15 or 16?

Go ahead try to say it... try to justify your idea...If 2-4 kids would be ok for a "normal" family that means 15,16 or maybe even 17 of their children should have been throw-aways? This is what you are saying to the world with your own actions. ...and actions speak louder than words.

They make the EXCUSE that life begins at conception because having lots of kids would be inconvenient for them.
God never says "take the easy way out."

Do they not understand the part where God said "Go forth and multiply?" Every time they use birth control or a condom they are killing a potential life that was meant to be here on earth. There is NO GRAY AREA when it comes to human life.

As humans we were NEVER created to use birth control.I don't think God ever told Adam to make sure Eve took her birth control pill everyday. I have never read in the Bible any thing that states or even hints that... "Life begins at conception."

Take a complete stand, or no stand at all! Every used condom flushed down the toilet was potential life that God expected to be a life on earth. Birth control kills an egg that was meant to be a potential human being. It seems it's perfectly alright for Pro-lifers to kill in this manner. They are nothing but hypocrites if they can't truly stand by their convictions.

Now go ahead and make some more excuses why you use birth control to kill human life.

Have the GUTS to stand up and REALLY practice what you preach!

Religion is a factor, as a belief in a higher power than man provides the only grounds on which morals or principles can stand. However, whatever your religious persuasion happens to be, if you are a reasonable decent person, you should respect life and value it.

I think it's strange that all the people that protest abortion, the moment the child is born there is no support, either emotionally or financially for the Mother that they talked out of the abortion, I had a child when I was 17, and we had to sleep in cars, beg for food stamps, welfare, etc, one week when he was about 3 or 4 we lived on bread and mayonaisse for 2 weeks, standing in line every morning at 6am to try to get food stamps, I had no family to help me, where were all the people that talked me out of an abortion then?
My child (son) still hates me 30 yrs later for what we had to do just to get by, as in selling out my ethics and morality to obtain shelter and food
