Why is there no mention of the massive scientific expedition on Neblina in the 1980s. It was funded by NSF and other funders. Researchers worked--at least on the VZ side--for more than a year. The Smithsonian, New York Botanical Gardens and several universities were involved. The VZ photographer Charles Brewer-Carias was involved as was Dr. Roy McDiarmid. O was on the expedition both as a journalist and a research assistant.
