A few years ago, Pakistan limited its cooperation with the US in wiping out the islamofascists in the northern provinces of pakistan, who would slip across the border into afghanistan to kill women and children and then slip back. The pakistan government had little wish to regain control over its territory, for fear of alienating the usual people with anti-american sentiments. But after careful cultivation of the government plus money aid during the Bush years, and with the onset of islamofascist terrorism against pakistanis, the pakistan government has found the will to fight back against the al qaeda invaders. The US helps by splattering IFs with Predators, when the IFs' locations can be determined.

You don't think our presence in Pakistan and Afghanistan have anything to do with the oil pipeline running through those countries from Turkmenistan? I mean, it runs along the exact deployment line of us bases in the area.
