Abraham is the founding biblical patriarch both of the Jewish faith and Christianity. He was originally Abram, later renamed Abraham. He came from Ur (A Babylonian or Chaldean city) about 1900 B.C. He was married to Sarah very late in life, and his son was Isaac; his grandson was Jacob who was later called Israel and the founding father for the 12 Tribes of Israel.
