Why have some Swiss Chalet locations served really dark brown gravy with the chicken? It's bitter and horrible and definitely NOT the standard chicken gravy they use. One manager told me when I complained that they had been shipped beef gravy instead of the chicken. Last week a brand new location served this horrid beef type gravy. How can I be ensured that I'm not served the beef gravy?

Call ahead and ask if they have beef or chicken gravy?

Well this new location just opened in my town and when I called today (because my Red Hat ladies group will be going there tomorrow) the manager told me that they don't use the chicken gravy anymore and that all they use is the beef gravy. That sucks ... !

Also, we're self-employed and are on the road a lot, often stopping for lunch or dinner and calling ahead is a tad inconvenient.

Has anyone else noticed this change in the gravy at Swiss Chalet? I've noticed it at two locations.

I'm not sure if you will get this or not seeing as this post is a few months old. But it is possible they were shipped beef gravy instead of chicken from their supplier. It happens too often sometimes. But chances are the gravy was this way because it was burnt on the bottom of the pot in the process of cooking it. What happens is the mix settles on the bottom and if not properly stirred and maintained, it burns on the bottom. I'm not saying this is the true reason for either swiss chalet. It could be either or for bothReally, it's up to the cooks and kitchen managers to not use the burnt gravy. Out here I know we wouldn't hahaha. PS- I work at one in Nova Scotia CAN. Have been for over 6 years.

Also, our stor uses chicken gravy still so I'm not sure as to why they would have made the switch...

We just came back from Swiss Chalet and we had the same terrible beef gravy the server told us that it was changed about a month ago. Also the chicken sauce has been changed it now looks like warm pudding it will barely pour out of the container it is beyond me why they have to mess with something that has worked for so many years.

I sent an email to them and I think everybody should do the same and maybe we can have them change it back again.

Tell all of your friends to do the same I know that I will lets make them change things back
