Why have Black Britains forgotten their Grandmother Mary Prince. Mary Prince was the first ex-female slave to have her narrative published in England. She helped to move the abolition movement forward. Yet she is not taught in schools, there is no rememberance day, no songs sung. She is not even hailed as a standard by which all young black women should aspire. That is to exist one need do nothing, to progress, one must do everything, or at least more than his share? What was so frightening that british society did not, does not teach the history of Mary Prince in schools or for that matter in University (unless of course, a student requests it?
