Why don't the State Police spend more money on tracing handguns which are confiscated from criminals?
As far a funding such tracing- how about a little less money looking for marijuana plants in cornfields !
I'll bet you'd be surprised at the criminal history that can be uncovered by tracing a criminal's handgun as opposed to the criminal history of PLANT GROWERS !
I believe that if the public knew that handgun tracing was a police prioity- gun owners (even criminals) would do a much better job of securing their guns against theft.
No one wants to hear the police come knocking at their door- asking why they didn't report their handgun stolen, as required by Michigan law.
