Why did the station go from being 3 tracks to two, do you not think as I do that the the station looks bare and why did BR rationalise the track running to uphill and the main track to one road when for centuries it was fine with two.
I know you are going to say that it was due to the motorway that now dtsects the county and horrible it is, I remember doing a sponsered walk with my school from Uphill right up to Crooked peak and back about 30 miles and there was no Motorway then,it was lovely and walking from Uphill to Winscombe up over Banwell lovely all spoilt by traffic now I guess, but as I wassaying the railway looks lik e a 3rd world mess at present I guess at least it did the last I saw of itwhy noyt let concered citizens have control of the running lines and relay the track for athestic reasons then maybe have a steam train a week run over the metals, simply a suggestion all answered gratefully recieve Ta!
