It seems like in what I have read so far that David wants to gt accepted into a good college. His father went to Stanford but David doesn't think he will get that far. He expects to at least get qa scholarship to the University of New Mexico with his high A.C.T scores.

David, hands down. Or maybe Susan. But I hope she goes through with her lakeshore cabin "someday", after this experiance, she'll need the peace and quiet.
