Where do I find .476 ammo or reload equipment to build my own?
This page speaks of a .476 Enfield. I happen to own a Webley model 1889 which fires .476 ammo and I know for a fact that is was a police issued service revlover. I have only found .455 ammo to fire in it, but would like info on .476 ammo to purchase, or to create my own . Can anyone help me..???
Thanks ....Canadiangunowner...

Acctualy to my knowlege the .455 cartridge will work too.
use the long brass (like Dominion)and a hollow base bullet.
You can find Webley Revolvers with a special tapered chamber,
that allows the use of .476 or .455 cartridges. A normal
MkI to MkVI won't accept a .476 round (Cartridges of the World
claims diffrent. Have they ever tried??)
If you desperate in need for the original load, you need some
exotic reloading gear and bullet moulds, hardly worth the effort, keep the pressures low.

Hello Tranter,
Thanks for the info and advice... I currently fire .455 ammo in my Webley but I thought having the correct sized bullet (.476) this would seal in the barrel better give the gun a big bore feel when I pull the trigger..
This gun is in excellent shape and I intend on using black powder in the reloads...I love the smoke..! But there is very little kick to the gun... I also own a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver .. so I know what a big kick is... although I don't expect my Webley to kick the same.. I just expect more that it delivers... After all.. .476 is a lager caliber ... and it should have some kick to it..!! Am I not correct..??
Do you have any idea where I could acquire a bullet mold for .476 ...???
If not... I could used supplier info for .455 which seems to be getting harder to find also..

Thanks... Canadiangunowner
