I am pretty sure it was August 28, 1957. I was 10 years old and was one of the presenters of a plaque given to Carl. I was a member of the Canarsie Little League in Brooklyn. I was chosen to present the plaque because Carl Furillo was a personal friend of our family. I was only 10 years old but will never forget that night. It was my night in the "LimeLight." I have a picture in my home of me standing there with Carl Furillo, Vince Scully and other baseball dignitaries along with a fellow presenter and othe members of my family and the Canarsie Little league. I really hated to see the Dodgers leave Brooklyn. I miss the backyard barbeques with some of the greats like Furillo, Hodgers and Kofax. My father was a friend of quite a few dogers and some other teams players. As a matter of fact my Aunt Fannie made a commercial with Joe Dimaggio. Her line was Eat Joe Eat. It was a commercial for the Bowery Savings Bank. Really miss those days.
