When performing a cord blood DAT, microscopically it was "weakly pos" Should a Lui Freeze be performed when the
DAT is that weak microscopically when you know that it is because the mother is type O and the baby is type A?
Several of us called the DAT negative microscopically but one tech called it positive. So we ran the specimen on the Provue and the Provue called it negative. But because the tech had called it pos, a Lui Freeze was performed (and showed anti A).

Question 2: Since the Provue is more sensitive than manual testing, how come the Lui Freeze was positive when the Provue called the DAT neg?
