What's the reason for having lots of children if they're not going to be loved and accepted?

Look, I myself have 5 amazing children....I don't believe the earth is overpopulated,...I understand that in poor countries the death rate is so high that a family must have lots of children just for the simple fact that many of them won't survive, the other fact is the need for man power to help the family survive....I am not at all against people having lots of children, what other purpose is there for the human race other than to prosper and multiple...enjoy

I have read about african people having kids so that
the kids would take care of them and give them money
when they grow up.

You hit the nail on the head! It has always been interesting to me that no government or NGO, including Friends of the Earth, is willing to take the bull by the horns and deal with the global threat of overpopulation. It seems to be a taboo subject.

27 years ago, I was so horrified when the Earth's population hit five billion that I started writing a book as a vehicle for presenting my own ideas on population control. By the time I had finished writing the book and published it (last month), the population was SEVEN BILLION.

There are far too few voices willing to confront the issue of too many people in the world. There's a lot of noise about feeding all the billions to come, but not in reducing birth rates. That in my mind is insane. Are we to just sit back and watch more and more children starve to death?

I present a fairly controversial and radical solution to the problem in my book (The O.D. by Chris James) in which the human population is reduced by 90% over a 250 year time span. The good news is that nobody gets killed. And the outcome is that EVERYONE - children and adults alike - have a far better life.
