What is known of the form and extent "stewardship" of Irish Cistercian Monasteries entrusted to Margam Abbey; in particular in relation to the Abbey of the Feale aka "Mainistir na Féile" in the Irish language, and sometimes corrupted to "Nephellagh" (na Féile)?

This Abbey was situated on the Kerry-Limerick border in Munster, on the Limerick side. The lovely town of Abbeyfeale on the road to Killarney now commemorates what is known of this foundation. It was basically an small 'outpost' of the Abbey at Monasternenagh or Nenay. It was placed, with other establishments, under the authority of Margam Abbey following a disturbance in Monasternenagh- a mini-rebellion.

The following is a very brief history:

"The town of Abbeyfeale has its roots in the twelfth century when Brien O'Brien founded a Cistercian abbey in 1188 on the banks of the river Feale, hence the name 'Abbeyfeale'. The abbey became a cell of Monasternanagh in the barony of Pubblebrien in 1209."
