Hello bobtx1us!

I only recently started a trial subscription to Skousen's HFT so have very little experience with it. I have been a long-time subscriber to his Forecasts & Strategies and find that to be an excellent source of information, for both specific recommendations and general discussion.

So far, here are some observations and impressions:

1. On an irregular, but approximate weekly, schedule an email "alert" is sent with one or two recommendations. What I have seen so far, including a look at some of the archived alerts is that a stock will be recommended both as a buy and as a call option. For example he might recommend company XYZ at $XX and along with that recommend a specific call option.

2. Before signing up I called their customer service line and was told that generally only out of the money call options for somewhat far out dates are recommended. Options are almost always traded as "buy to open" and "sell to close". These are simple, straightforward techniques that any brokerage should support. You will probably need to fill out some paperwork with your broker to be authorized for option trading.

3. He is not to good at updating the status of earlier recommendations. Are they still "good"? At what price?

4. His rational for recommendations may be very well thought out, but it is not well-presented in his alerts. For example, in one alert he recommended a stock based, at least in part, on its potential as a buy-out target. Shortly after, the buyout fell through. A subsequent alert bragged that the recommended stock went up on the news! No discussion of the apparent contradiction. I expected more detailed analysis and tracking for the price of this service.

5. I looked back through a few months recommendations and EVERY ONE was down.

6. I submitted a question to the contact email listed on the web page. It has been two days so far without an answer. I was careful to include "New Subscriber" in the subject line hoping that would get some attention.

7. I did take small positions in the two most recent recommendations, both straight stock buys and call options. Too soon to tell how these will pan out. The earlier one was already down since his recommendation but I considered it to be well within day-to-day volatility so took it as a good deal.

If anyone shows any interest I will post an update or two.
