What effect does barrel length have on the ballistics of a .44 mag. I like the 6.5 " barrel taurus but am wondering, if the 4" barrel will give me roughly the same performance but be more convenient to carry around because it is more compact. I am buying one mainly for bear defense while bow hunting in grizzly territory.
