Hi Naheedghazan,

An anerobic sewage treatment lagoon needs to be a minimum of 2.5 metres deep, with greater depths preferrable up to 4 metres.

Such depths minimise the effects of oxygen diffusion from the surface, allowing anerobic conditions to prevail.
