What are some of the properties of FBE pipe coatings relating to UV protection? Our company has considered using FBE coated pipe in above ground applications and we haven't found very much information about how FBE degrades or how it is affected by UV rays.

Recent studies (sorry but I do not have a reference) have shown that FBE thickness can degrade at a rate of 1-1.5 mils per year in direct sunlight. Cathodic Protection properties are not changed but loss of thickness will eventually cause reduction then loss in protection levels. 3M has great tech support and you can call their "1-800" number and they will provide more info.
