We are an O&M operator for Shuaiba Water & Electricity Station. We have desalination installation MSF type with 12 distillers each with ca 74000 m3/day Capacity.

Our distillers are designed for a performance ratio of 9.45. The Plant is operational since one year. Recently, we have inspected evaporator sections of Heat reject sections. Few findings inside the evaporator are
The First stage ( of 19 stages) have significant amount of wall with salt scales approx 6 mm thick.
The first stage walls have deformations. Our fear is that wall deformations may cause dislocation of demister pads.

For anti scalant we are using Belgard 2035. The dosing rate is 2.44 ppm against a brine flow of 27000m3/h.

The wall material of first stage is A240-316L.

We need a expert opionion on the possible cause of scaling & deformation of heat rejection wall.
