Was there any one by the name of Shepherd that owned the brewery? Or is that just a name they came up with?
Just wondering how the name Shepherd became involved.

Samuel Shepherd owned the brewery in 1741. If you
look up the history of Shepherd Neame on google it
will tell you more. You can actually by a history
book in the brewary shop. Hope this is helpful.
