My father,Tex Roe(1922-2001),apparently was communicating with Mr. Balderson about sending a song to Mr. Roy Horton for consideration for inclusion in a John Wayne movie.

I have a letter in front of me right now that I found in the personal effects of Dad. Dad was a close friend of Pee Wee King, and in his early career, travelled widely with Pee Wee's Road Tour show. I have tons of communication between Dad and Pee Wee. One letter indicates that Pee Wee was trying to get Mr. Horton to listen to the song. I am sure which song it was that Dad wanted to submit. He finally got it to Walter.

Walter indicated that it took him a long time to get it to Mr. Horton, but he finally did. Apparently Mr. Horton said that he would listen and do what he could to get it to the people making the movie.

At the letter's close,Walter wished everyone in my family was fine, and asked for Dad to say,"Hello" to my mom.

He also said he would stay in touch.

What amazing things I am learning about my father and his connections with people like Walter Balderson,Lee Sutton,Roy HOrton,Pee Wee King,Owen Bradley,Big Slim (The Lone Cowboy),many, many legends in the country music field.

Just I would pass this on and share in case anyone knows anything further about the movie or Roy Horton's involvement, in order to further my research.
