I am not a prude but today's strip was appalling. Although I have read your strip regularly, I will no longer do so. I believe the comic section of the newspaper is meant for all ages including the "juvenile group". I cannot believe that you referred to a male arousal in your strip by writing "I can tell from your salute."

I agree the Jan 18 strip pushed the envelope a little too far.

Chickweed lane was a daily dose of witty sight gags and one liners. Now it has become an R rated soap opera. Besides, I'm disappointed that Edda quit being Superlative Girl and quieted down. What next? Is she going to give up her career in ballet to be Amos' accompaniest? Or get pregnant? I keep reading hoping the fun will come back.

I enjoy the strip a lot, but must admit its probably best not to put it on the main comic page because of its content. maybe it should be in a different section of the paper like i've seen it done with doonesbury in the past.
