My dissapointment in pageants comes from the standards at which beauty is judged. If you watch tv, read magazines, look at ads etc, you will see the latest in fashion. Hair, makeup, and physical fitness, is out there everywhere. One of the things I often tell clients, is to look around.
With that in mind, I'm sad to see a girl with beautiful alabaster skin penalized because she didn't spray on a tan. With all of the information about how bad the sun is and they are still pushing that look? How many stars and models out there are tanned? Hmmm,not many. And why the garish makeup and huge hair? Seriously, why not update the expectations and guidelines on how a contestant should look.
