Spoke to a vet of the twentieth scottish division which was composed of young men about the age of the HJ;montgomery decided that the 20th scottish would break through the HJ creating a corridor but the old guy said they were "hammered and battered" by the HJ and it took them nine weeks to break through only after the HJ had run out of petrol and ammo-said they were the finest young folk he'd come across in the war
