The holy pond of Thrikkakara temple is called Kapila Theertha. It's the name of a sacred waterfall in Andhra.
Is there any connection or just a name for the temple pond?
any story behind the name?

The Kapila Theertha in Andhra is named because,Saint Kapila Maharshi had lived there and worshipped Lord Shiva.

"Theertham" means sacred lake or pond.

But the Thrikkakara Temple is devoted to Vamana (Lord Vishnu), I am not sure if there is any connection. However, in ancient days Saints like Kapila, Vashistha etc have lived in many places (as the average life time in Thretha Yuga - 3000 years) It could be possible that the name might be derived for same reason.

Cheers !!
