The thing about Big Fish is it is based in Ashland alabama but really that was a cover name for Cullman. according to Gale Literature's database. however, i belive this is also true because the author's grandparents lived in cullman. NO one has really heard of ashland and if you read the book you'll see that it really did mean cullman but just didnt straight out say it :)
