I would welcome any other replies to this problem, my bigger fish are ok but smaller fish and fry are under attack
Currently I have a combination of strings across the pond and partial netting (it doesnt look too bad - even a little artistic)
My koi dealer recommended strong fishing line 1 metre apart which can't be seen so easily however I have a lot of small birds (Martins, doves etc) drinking from this pond and they need to see the lines and this at least seems to be working for them.
I also have a water jet with a sensor, and some chicken wire in parts (the pond is very large and natural so some spots are more likely to allow the herons to land)
WHEN DO THESE HERONS MOVE SOUTH?
