Bucketshops are betting parlors setups during the turned of the 1900's similar to Off Track Bettings of today. Instead of betting on ponies they bet on stocks on a 1 point ($1 Dollar) margin on a 10-Shares Trade. Catered for small investor. On a 1 Point($1 Dollar) margin, you are margin down to .75 cents on your margin. Sample: If you are trading a stock, let's say SBUX (Starbucks)at 25 you are margin down to 24.25. If the stock pulled back down to your margin you are automatically stop-out and your investment is wipe-out. You can go Long and short on your position. At the most you can bet 2 or 3 points margin ($2 or $3 dollars) on your investment.
