Is Susan really that stupid? I mean, that she really thinks that David likes her after the one incounter that they had? Shouldn't she, who has little brothers that have most likely played pranks on her before, have seen right through their little act? They were obivously trying to hard, including her in EVERY convo, they had known each other for awhile.

I wondered the same thing (and decided Yes, but that's beside the point). SO NAIEVE!!!!!!!! There are so many girls who feel this way. She has probably never been given such attention before and now feels like she will do anything to get it. Plus, Mark, and consequently David, are very manipulative and good at controlling people. I believe this, among other reasons, is why Mark chose her.

She was an unexpected surprise to the rest of the group when Mark suggested her. That was whhy she was chosen. Nobody would suspect her.

Yeah, but I think that the breaking point for her was when he (Mr. Griffin) shouted for her to run.

I think that he was involved in something bigger than just a runaway husband case. Someone wanted him gone before he even left. He was trying to get away from something or maybe someone.

Cool! But I think that it was something much more simple than that...the book said that he left after he was born right? I think that though he appeared to be happy to a baby boy, he was really getting sick of the family life, he wanted adventure, thrill, and a hot new chick. I think that he left purely out of the selfishness of his heart.

He might not have been selfish. he could have been young and stupid, so when david was conceived he panicked and ran. then when he calmed a bit, he probably thought that she would never want to see him again so he moves on.
