Sub: Regarding the splitting the numerical value?
In decision trees, the final output is a tree and rules. I have given a data set which contains the numerical and categorical attributes to the decision tree. Before giving the data set to decision tree the categorical values are converted into the numerical values i.e. an attribute is having four values A,B,C,D which are converted to 1,2,3,4 respectively and then the data set is given to decision tree. When I am interpreting the tree the attribute which I have converted categorical to numerical(as said above) the values are being there. It is taking some other values like attribut>=3.5 and also attribut<1.5 like this.
Why the decision tree is not taking the values what we have given like 1,2,3 and 4 for the particular attribute what I said in the earlier?
Could any one please clear my doubt. I am very much thankful to you in advance.
