So who killed Larry Mitchell? The real question is:why would Clark Brandon let Larry Mitchell into his penthouse while Betty Mayfield was there? He tells Marlowe that Betty pushed Mitchell by accident over his(Brandon's)penthouse wall. Every time I read this book I come away thinking that Marlowe kows Brandon killed Mitchell, that he can prove it and that he walks away. Why? Or is that too many questions?
