So I need a lab for my AP chemistry class, and it's gonna be on periodic law. I really like explosions, so I'm looking to use thermite reactions to test the periodic law. My idea is to see which fuels will melt iron the fastest when the oxide that they react with is FeOH. From what I can tell, groups 13 and 14 have several elements that work as fuels, and I'd like to know if anyone has a complete list of good fuels for thermite reactions.
