Well done on a very moving and important topic about childhood experiences in the care system.

I fought the courts for 10 years to take out a civil case against my adoptive father, mother and brother, but they decided that I was outside the limitation of when I should have started the case (saying i should have started proceedings no longer than 6 years from my 18th birthday). The case was then taken to the European Court of Human Rights (Stubbings vs United Kingdom) but we were told that the other European countries had to be consulted and nothing seems to of happened since. This is so unjust, because if I had been 'accidentally damaged' I would be able to have my case heard, but this is not the case for 'intentional damage'.

These 10 years where I took control of my life where the most productive years I have ever had. Since then, I have been treading water and I feel let down by the justice system for just letting them get away with it. How can people be allowed to get away for such hideous crimes as on going sexual, emotional and physical abuse on a child they have adopted from 2 to 14 years of age?

I have to find a way of seeing that justice is done, otherwise, what is the point of my existence? if I do not fight for my right to a life in which this society recognises this injustice, then how can it call itself a 'civilised society'?

Neil's programme helped me to make the decision to fight for justice in anyway I can and to make it my mission in life, because at 54 I want to be productive again and I want answers.
