I picked up an interesting rumour that San Luis joined the cinflict with a replacement Torpedo Officer who was not full conversant with the guideance systems for the Torpedoes she was armed with!

He is rumoured to have turned the computer chips in each torpedo with the result that everything was working 'back to front'!!!

The Sub didn't hit anything as a result...BUT! The British sure knew that there were torpedoes in the water!!!

The result was that the British expended an enormous amount of ordenance trying to locate and sink the San Louis!!

Anyone know if this story is true? Sounds feasible...would explain a lot about the Keystone Cops fiasco that insued!
