I met Mike when I was 13 yrs. old and what a gentleman he was. I have known a lot of great players. I played professionally myself. Mike gave me at least 4 of his old golf bags and they are treasured. I tried to conduct myself just as he did with pro am partners or kids in the gallery. I know that my association with him has take me where I am now at 63 yrs. old.

I can remember when he lost the Open at Cherry Hills, I talked to him the Sat. after the final round and all I could do was cry. Later he told me not to worry he slipped out the back door and went to his room and fell across the bed and did his crying. This only shows the human side of the man and the feelings he had for others.
