I'm showing my age, but i was a 17 year old kid with an old blue nash skateboard when the z-boys exploded onto the scene. my step-brother and i used to gawk at the photos with our jaws dropping and say things like 'no way! must be trick photography!' stacy peralta's documentary was like a trip thru a time warp for me. nostalgia factor not withstanding, i think it's a damn fine piece of film-making, an excellent amalgam of photos, film, narration, interviews and soundtrack. z-boys rule!
