This type of tension has been observed with all such couples where marriage is held between some SATSANGI with a NON-SATSANGI spouse as is being reported in this case.
So unless one believes in KARAM YOG for best service of humanity, including parents, family and society by preparing to wait for spiritual progress to be made at the age of beyond 60 years, lot of trouble is bound to exist causing ruining others' life without their fault, through faulty blame game.
So think twice with a cool mind, mainly because no time frame could ever be fixed for any target in spiritual progress. Inner progress can't be achieved without succeeding to make outer progress by serving humanity first.

Dear 0027, I would have to agree with 'Reasonable.' You should not give such type of advice to your fellow brothers and sisters. It is seriously not good advice. Please keep such advice to yourself.

People should NOT wait until they are 60 years of age before trying to make spiritual progress. What utter nonsense. At the age of 60 years and beyond, the human faculties naturally start to deteriorate and the ability to carry out lengthy periods of meditation becomes much harder if the person has not carried out regular meditation before.

So, 0027, if you do not know what you are talking about, please keep your "advice" to yourself.

To Papi, always try and keep harmony in your home and keep the lines of communication open with your wife by discussing each others point of view in an honest manner. Without harmony in your house, your meditation will suffer, as your mind will be distracted and disturbed.

I am sure that you can reach some sort of compromise with your wife. You can meditate at times when she is asleep, for example, during the early morning hours.

Your meditation is extremely important. Do NOT let your mind find excuses to stop doing your meditation. If you can't do 2.5 hours per day at the moment, so be it. Do as much as you can every day, but try and sit every day without fail. In time, you will hopefully build up to 2.5 hours/day.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

Best of luck with your meditation.

According to J Krishnamurty, Meditation, according to various GURUS requires thoughtless mind. Thoughtless mind stage can be attained through an other thought process which attempts to prevail on the ongoing thought to attain such a stage for which various GURUS also prescribe some MANTRAS (NAAM) for repitition. Hence such a thoughtless stage can be attained through a conflict between two thought processes under the conditioned mind and not through free mind. Hence the thought procees remains conditioned under GURU who also advice to attempt to see the immage of their GURU during such meditation.
Hence any activity of mind with a conditioned mind (so-termed as blind faith in GURU) and not with a free mind causes more harm than any relief.

Not withstanding all such contradictions, no one can find fault with the KARMA YOG as compared with HAT YOG (Meditation)for salvation of the soul, which otherwise is neccessary for doing best KARMAS through service to man kind (including family and parents apart from society at large)and make outer progrees before attempting to make any inner progress in spirituality/meditation.
One should not repeat should not ignore family, kids and parents for sparing the prescribed 10% time for meditation followed by additional time for KAR SEVA in addition to sparing 10% of one's earning for donation to RSSB ignoring the requirement of time and money for the family.
