"From this view quantum Darwinism provides a Darwinian explanation at the basis of our reality, explaining the unfolding or evolution of our classical macroscopic world. It is perhaps surprising that this same mechanism operating at the emergence of classical reality from quantum reality is also seen by scientific theories to be operating at the emergence of biology from chemistry and at the emergence of culture from biology."

"The agreement of the experimentally derived patterns and simulation patterns during variations in conductance also supports the idea that these periodic patterns represent offspring states. As the scientists explain, when the magnetic field increases, these offspring modes “push through” an energy level called the Fermi level and emerge as pointer states, which are detectable."

What implications does this have, in terms of our existing in what is apparently a reasonably coherent reality? How, if the emergence and subsequent 'survival' of particular states/governing constants are dependent on the context in which they exist/are 'introduced to', could something like this have begun? Would this prove physical laws to be somewhat arbitrary, rather than universal? What already-existent parameters determine the perpetuation or ceasing of physical laws? Which qualities on the part of the observer determine their ability to detect a so-called 'pointer state'?
